Frequently Asked Questions

  • Dr. Anton is an out-of-network provider and does not directly bill insurance companies. All fees are due at the time of service. While Dr. Anton does not accept insurance, many families are able to receive partial reimbursement through their insurance plan's out-of-network benefits. To facilitate this process, a superbill — a detailed, itemized receipt containing all necessary procedure and diagnostic codes — will be provided upon request for submission to your insurance company.

To determine your potential reimbursement eligibility, we recommend contacting your insurance provider before scheduling your appointment and asking the following questions:

    • Do I have out-of-network benefits for psychological or neuropsychological assessment?

    • What is my out-of-network deductible, and has it been met?

    • What percentage of out-of-network services will be reimbursed?

    • Do I need a referral or pre-authorization for psychological testing?

    • How do I submit a superbill for reimbursement?

Please note that Dr. Anton does not accept Medicare or Medicaid.

  • A psychological assessment can be one of the most meaningful investments a family makes in their child's future. These assessments go beyond identifying challenges — providing a deep understanding of each child's unique strengths, learning style, and individual needs. For many families, the evaluation brings long-awaited answers, relief, and a clear path forward. Armed with a comprehensive report and targeted recommendations, parents are empowered to advocate effectively for their child, work collaboratively with schools and treatment providers, and implement strategies that truly make a difference. For children and adolescents, understanding how they learn and why certain things feel difficult can be incredibly validating and empowering — helping them build confidence, resilience, and a positive sense of self.

  • Each individual and family can expect a welcoming and supportive experience during their assessment. The appointment typically begins in the morning with a brief introduction to help the patient feel comfortable before testing begins. During the appointment, the patient will meet one-on-one with Dr. Anton who will guide the patient through a variety of structured activities and standardized tasks. These activities may feel similar to puzzles, games, and academic exercises and are administered at a pace that is comfortable for each individual. Breaks are provided as needed, snacks are encouraged, and every effort is made to ensure that each child feels at ease throughout the evaluation process. There is no need to prepare or study — we simply ask that your child gets a good night's sleep, eats a healthy meal beforehand, and comes ready to do their best.

  • Talking to your child about their upcoming appointment does not have to be complicated. We encourage parents to keep the conversation simple, positive, and reassuring. Here are a few things you might say:

    • 'You are going to meet with a special doctor who wants to learn about how you think and learn.'

    • 'You will do some activities that may feel like puzzles and games — just do your best!'

    • 'There are no right or wrong answers. The doctor just wants to get to know you.'

    • 'This appointment is to help us figure out the best ways to support you at school and at home.'

The most important message to share with your child is that this appointment is not something to worry about — it is an opportunity for us to better understand and celebrate who they are.

  • Getting started is simple. To inquire about services or schedule a consultation, please contact Dr. Anton’s office by phone. Due to call volumes, office staff will make every effort to return phone calls within 1-2 business days.

During the scheduled consultation, Dr. Anton will discuss your concerns and gather unique background information, answer any questions you may have, and determine whether a psychological assessment is recommended. If an evaluation is appropriate, the next steps will include scheduling the formal assessment appointment followed by a separate feedback conference, during which Dr. Anton will review the evaluation findings and present personalized recommendations.
